One of Uganda’s big names in the entertainment industry, Jose Chameleone on Saturday took it upon himself to promote his son, Abba Marcus Mayanja when the opportunity arose at the Buzz Leavers Rock at Garden City Rooftop. After performing one song, Chameleone said, “I take the honour to introduce an upcoming hip hop artiste to come to the stage and sing with me.” No one would have guessed that he was referring to his son, Abba who has recently joined the music industry. “I have sung all genres of music in this world but I have never ventured into hip hop. Abba however, is here to represent that part and talent in me,” Chameleone said. As he hoped onto the stage, Abba attracted wild cheers and ululation. The cheers continued all through his performance of ‘Game Over’, his very first single that was released this year. The revelers were shocked by Abba’s talent and while some stood in total admiration, the rest cheered and sang along.
“We are going to take hip hop to the next level and all the youths here should join Abba at his album launch and kids party before the end of this year at Freedom City,” Chameleone stressed before he got off the stage. As the ‘one man, one million show’ gets closer, speculations are high that Chameleone who has made it a custom to come along with his son for almost all his performances will tap into the opportunity to market his son’s talent.
